Fine motor skills: Practice numbers 1-10

R5,00

Practice numbers with learners in a fun and practical way.

I practiced these numbers with my daughter using the following methods:

  • She took gum paper, tore it into pieces, and pasted it onto the number. By tearing the paper, children exercise the muscles in their fingers (fine motor skills).
  • She dipped a cotton bud into paint and used it to make the number. I made a pattern with three colours next to it, and she then made the pattern on the number. In this way, she practices her fine motor skills and learns about patterns.
  • Stickers: I made a pattern with stickers using two colours. She then pasted the same pattern onto the number.

You can also use other methods like sticking on pom-poms, popcorn, pasta, buttons, and so on. Children will learn in a practical way what each number looks like and the quantity it represents.
